737 Percentage (73.7) of the combined victories between Diaz and Pellegrino to come via submission. Diaz who is 8-2 has submitted six opponents, while Pellegrino, 11-3 has submitted eight. Out of their combined 24 fights only three have gone to decision. Diaz has one loss via decision to Koji Oishi. Pellegrino has a decision win over Mac Danzig and a decision loss to Joe Stevenson. Look for this one to be fast paced with somebody getting stopped!
123 Date (1/23) of 2008 at UFC Fight Night 12, the last bout for both Nate Diaz and Kurt Pellegrino. They actually fought back to back on the card. First, in the fifth fight of the night Kurt needed 6:55 to TKO Alberto Crane. Amazingly for much of that time he fought with a hole in his lip. Crane caught him causing the injury but it didn’t faze Kurt. Afterwards Joe Rogan was both stunned and a little amused by the injury and Kurt’s willingness to fight on...and then it was Diaz’s turn...
339 Time (3:39) Nate Diaz needed in the sixth fight of the night to submit Alvin Robinson with a beautiful triangle choke. We know the younger Diaz brother, winner of The Ultimate Fighter 5, is tough with great submissions and as you can see by Pellegrino’s record and determination, Nate is going to have to use both his toughness and skill to defeat Kurt. This is going to be a great fight!
