Strikeforce Fedor vs. Rogers: It takes just One

8 Minutes (8) into the show, after Gus Johnson, Mauro Ranallo, and Frank Shamrock had talked about Fedor and Rogers we saw Fabricio Werdum already in the cage.

25 Ninja Assassin in theatres on November (25) brought us the rules of combat.

30 Minutes (30) the Sears Center is outside of downtown Chicago according to Gus Johnson.

56 Silva brought the pain in the first (56) seconds of MMA fighting on CBS this year. He tagged Werdum and looked to finish, but Werdum held on.

4 Did I count at least (4) ring card girls?

30 Commercials suck, between rounds two and three we were told they’d be back in (30) seconds. Where I was watching they showed four commercials and obviously the fighters are getting much more than a minute between rounds.

3 Silva only threw (3) standing strikes in round two.

2 Rounds (2) won by Fabricio Werdum on all the judges cards.

15 Sokoudjou has a (1.5) inch reach advantage on Mousasi.

41 Mousasi is a (4 to 1) favorite.

161 Little Nog was a (16 to 1) favorite when Sokoudjou KO’d him.

213 After a great first round by both men Mousasi found himself in Sokoudjou’s guard with (2:13) left in round two. It took him less than a minute to finish the fight. It’s amazing that Sokoudjou has not gotten much better off his back in the last couple years.

57 Minutes (57) into the first hour when we saw free agent Dan Henderson in the Strikeforce cage. Is it a sign of things to come?

6 Fighters (6) shown before Shields vs. Miller: Arlovski, Lawler, Smith, Lindland, Aoki, and Le. Pretty solid group of guys.

3 Minutes (3) into the hour when we got to watch the Jason Mayhem miller show as he danced down the walkway.

0 Number of dancers (0) when Shields entered the cage, Mayhem had about twelve.

67 Seconds into the fight (67) when Shields took Miller’s back and then worked into mount.

3 Times (3) Miller tossed Shields to the canvas.

230 At (2:30) of round three Frank Shamrock called the monkey roll perfectly as he said it and Miller used it.

7 Pure drama in the last (7) seconds of round three as Miller almost put Shields to sleep with a rear naked choke.

5 Heading into round (5) Shields had been on Miller’s back or in the mount for about all but 14 seconds of the fight.

3 Shields won on all (3) cards, but he didn’t win many fans with what most will call lay and pray tactics, especially with Fedor and Rogers waiting in the wings.

2 Out of commercial (2) fighters were already in the cage. Note to CBS, let us watch guys like Fedor and Rogers walk into the cage.

53 Minutes (53) after the hour when Big John got the fight under way.

1 Jabs (1) that split Fedor’s nose open early. Fedor recovered and round one was exciting.

1 And (1) over hand right by Fedor in round two reminded us all why he is the best.
