TUF 10 Finale: Fast Starts, Doomsday, and the Undefeated

356 Total cage time (3:56) for Brendan Schaub heading into his bout with Roy Nelson for the TUF Season 10 contract...

127 The former University of Colorado fullback’s longest fight lasted only (87) seconds and overall Schaub has four wins against no losses.

417 Little different story for his opponent Roy Nelson. “Big Country” made his pro debut on (4/17) in 2004 and won two decisions on the night...

56 Nelson’s shortest recorded fight lasted (56) seconds and overall he is 13-4.

2 Nelson is currently on a (2) fight losing streak as before heading onto the show he was stopped by Andrei Arlovski and lost a decision to Jeff Monson,

10 Days (10) after Matt Hamill TKO’d Tim Boetsch at UFC Fight Night 13 on April 2, 2008; Jon Jones began his pro MMA career at the age of 20...

96 By the time Hamill fought again, on (9/6) at UFC 88 (a TKO loss to Rich Franklin), Jones had won seven fights including his UFC debut at 87.

2 After the breakneck pace in 2008, “Bones” has fought just (2) time in 2009, a memorable decision win over Stephan Bonnar and a sub of Jake O'Brien at UFC 100.

353 Hamill has fought just once on the year, a memorable head kick KO of Mark Munoz that lasted just (3:53). It was Hamill’s first KO victory.

211 Combined record (19-1) of 10-1 Frankie Edgar and 11-0 Matt Veach. And Edgar’s only loss came at the hands of undefeated Gray Maynard.

7 They win in different ways, (7) of Edgar’s last eight fights have gone to a decision. He won six of them...

1 Veach, who made his UFC debut earlier this year in an exciting back and forth affair with Matt Grice, has won just (1) time by decision.

17 Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson and Houston Alexander’s doomsdays came just (17) days apart in 2008. Alexander was subbed by Eric Schafer in September and then (17) days later Kimbo was dropped by Seth Petruzelli.

428 Days (428) after the apparent end of Kimbo and he is back bigger than ever after his stint on TUF and now he’s matched up with Houston in what promises to be an explosive contest.

78 And for Houston it was just (78) days ago when he got back on the winning track by TKO’ing Sherman Pendergarst at Adrenaline MMA 4.

803 Marcus “Big Baby” Jones will get the evening started against Matt Mitrione. Jones has a total cage time of only (8:03) and a 4-1 record. That’s (8:03) more than Mitrione has had as he’ll be making his official debut. Correct me if I’m wrong, but won’t this be the first official fight in the UFC to feature two former NFL players?

5 The Prelims will have (5) fights including: TUF’ers John Madsen and Justin Wren, and Darrill Schoonover and James McSweeney, and non-TUF fights between Brian Stann and Rodney Wallace, John Howard and Dennis Hallman, and Mark Bocek and Joe Brammer.

7 Incredibly (7) fighters on the TUF 10 card will be putting their undefeated record on the line (excluding Mitrione who hasn’t officially fought). In all the group is 52-0-1 and it has the potential to leave the night at 59-0-1 or 52-7-1 as none of the undefeated are fighting each other.
