54 Average number of strikes landed (54) by Brandon Vera and Jon Jones heading into their main event at UFC on Versus 1. Their number of strikes thrown is almost identical as well. Jones has averaged 110 strikes in his last four fights while Vera has averaged 108.
Their records are a little different though. Jones comes in at 3-1 in his last four with his only loss due to DQ against Matt Hamill. Vera is 2-2 with his last being a very close decision loss to Randy Couture.
This fight features the new kid with all the potential against the old kid who used to be the one seen as having all the potential. No matter how it ends up, if they are close to their four-fight averages they will land and throw a similar number of strikes.
